Portfolio Services Department Description
The Portfolio Services Department is a dynamic, fast-paced team that provides a broad spectrum of operational support to PPM and fiduciary oversight of its client investments and assets. Functionally oriented teams include: Public & Private Operations, Derivatives Administration, Performance Analytics, Data Management and Business & Product Reporting. A high level of collaboration coupled with extensive cross-training promotes flexibility, scalability, and professional development. Portfolio Services is centrally positioned to engage with PPM’s investment and administrative teams to meet the firm’s strategic objectives. The department maxim is to be indispensable to our clients through timely, complete and accurate execution of roles and responsibilities.
Summary of Role
The BPR Data Integration Associate role exists within the BPR Team and within Portfolio Services. This team is currently comprised of 4 individuals who provide a centralized and coordinated research and fulfilment function supporting the reporting and analysis needs of PPM America’s many business units and clientele. The team leverages the organization through operating depth, developed skills, use of technology, process optimization and clear operating accountabilities. As a BPR Data Integration Associate, the candidate will work closely with personnel in Investment Management, Business Development, Marketing & Communications, Performance & Attribution, and IT as well as other groups, as needed.
Role Responsibilities
As a BPR Data Integration Associate, the candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between technical investment analytics and end-client deliverables. The role is focused on data, both proprietary PPM data and external market data and intelligence. The role will work extensively with the PPM IT department in automation efforts and effective use and application of information. The activities that are particularly relevant to the BPR Data Integration Associate include:
- Serve as a resource and expert in bridging the gap between technical investment analytics and the end client deliverables for Marketing & Communications, Business Development and other front office departments.
- Assist with development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, ensuring dashboards fit the PPM brand and that data is complete and accurate. Partner with BPR team members, IT, and internal business users to produce and maintain best in class standards and practices with new dashboard development.
- Take ownership of the Standard Client Reporting Package (SCRP) process and develop new standard reports on an as needed basis.
- Assist in creating standardized marketing content and with updating standard monthly and quarterly presentations.
- Generate reports for institutional client accounts across multiple asset classes, with content tailored for audiences including management, investors and other interested parties.
- As part of two-deep coverage, may partner with other BPR team members and the Marketing & Communications and Distribution teams to respond to RFPs and other ad hoc questionnaires, as applicable; taking ownership of data/quantitative questions within the request.
- Responsible for regularly occurring deliverables and participate in ad-hoc projects and client reporting as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and is passionate about financial services. The candidate should be effective working in a team environment, as well as possess the ability to work independently on specific projects. The candidate should be professional, self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented. The ability to interpret, present, and distill a variety of data is a must as the team serves as the gatekeepers of data distribution.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience
- College degree from an accredited institution
- General knowledge of investment products including Public and non-traditional investment vehicles
- Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple deadlines and clientele simultaneously and ensure that all tasks are completed on time with minimal supervision
- Be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Possess critical thinking, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving expertise
- Significant experience in preparing accurate and timely reports, analysis and presentations for management and clients
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Python, PowerBI, Word and PowerPoint
- Unquestionable professional integrity

- MBA or advanced degree is a plus
- Progress toward or interest in Industry related designations such as CFA, CPA, CIPM
- CFA, CIPM or work toward similar certifications a plus
- Project management experience or active participation in strategic initiatives
- Experience with Morningstar Direct, eVestment Analytics, eVestment Omni, and Seismic a plus
- Familiarity in cross-training and mentoring others
