Global Relationship Management Department Description
The Global Relationship Management Department is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and growing PPM’s global client and partner relationships.
Summary of Role
The Global Relationship Management Associate is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, prospective clients referred by our distribution partners, and stakeholders and reports to the Senior Managing Director, Head of Global Relationship Management. The role will act as the primary point of contact for clients, working closely with internal teams to meet and exceed client expectations. The Global Relationship Management Associate is accountable for meeting a wide array of client needs and partnering successfully with our investment teams and other internal teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage and build client relationships by leading scheduled and ad-hoc interactions (meetings, phone and e-mail), effectively communicating to designated client investment and operations teams and prospective clients referred by our distribution partners.
- Respond to ad-hoc inquiries from clients and sales/distribution partners. Responses need to be clearly communicated easy-to-understand and audience-appropriate.
- Work closely with internal teams, including portfolio management, legal and compliance, and portfolio services distribution, marketing, product development and client support to provide solutions for client needs and ensure a seamless client experience.
- Schedule and host client and prospective clients referred by our distribution partners calls and meetings with respective PPM teams including evening calls with PPM’s Asia clients.
- Coordinate development of client presentation materials and performance reports with team members. Assist as needed with development of marketing materials, including presentation enhancements and quarterly communications.
- Oversee co-design of new client mandates, from initial stages through launch, by leading internal and external communications and collaboration.
- Support PPM America’s affiliate, Jackson National Life, and their distribution teams.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products and services to existing clients, channels and prospective clients referred by our distribution partners.
- Maintain new business pipeline and activity metrics.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions and competitors to identify opportunities and threats.
- Review client materials to ensure accuracy and quality control.
- Develop and maintain all client and prospective clients referred by our distribution partners related activity in PPM’s CRM (Dynamics) and Compliance Systems.
- Prepare regular reports on client and prospective clients referred by our distribution partners activities, satisfaction levels, and business performance.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to client relationships.
- Occasional travel including international travel (10%).
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3+ years of investment experience in relationship management, account management or a similar role preferred or broader relevant work experience in the financial services industry required.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Master’s Degree or additional designations such as CFA, CAIA, encouraged.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with individuals possessing a wide range of financial sophistication.
- Works with a sense of urgency and keen eye for detail.
- Ability to gather information from various parts of the organization and package it into a coherent and relevant message for clients. Demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit, self-discipline and motivation, creative thinking, patience and an ability to work well in both a small working team, as well as a larger cross-functional team to gather and produce content.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, client service, and consultative sales skills.
