Alejandra is a financial services executive with over 28 years of experience spanning Fixed Income, Technology, Wealth Management, and Securities Backed Lending. Her expertise includes risk management, operational resilience, process engineering, and business continuity planning. She is known for leveraging strategic action planning and design thinking to drive cost reduction and enhance operational efficiency across complex organizations.
Throughout her career, Alejandra has successfully led cross-functional initiatives and teams, delivering innovative solutions that improve performance and support long-term growth. Her comprehensive industry knowledge is foundational to her commitment to building resilient, future-ready operating models.
In her current role as Managing Director, Head of Operational Risk & Resiliency, and Third-Party Risk Management, and Recovery and Resolution Planning in Citi’s Global Business Services division, Alejandra is focused on enhancing the bank’s ability to anticipate, withstand, and recover from disruptions, ensuring we continue to deliver critical services in a dynamic and uncertain environment.
Alejandra’s experience spans various disciplines, including Fixed Income Technology, Wealth Management, Securities Backed Lending, and IT Compliance. She spent the first part of her career driving operational performance and mitigating risk for leading investment banks, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and UBS Financial Services. Before joining Citi, Alejandra served as Managing Director, Head of Equities Clearing and DTC Settlement Product Management for the Depository Trust Clearing Company (DTCC) where she oversaw new business ideation, led strategy development across Equities Clearing and DTC settlement, and advanced client engagement.
Among her colleagues, she is recognized as a supportive leader who encourages her team to take risks and develop themselves, identifying opportunities for them and creating safe environments to practice newly acquired skills.
Through her involvement in numerous employee resource groups, nonprofit boards, and mentorship programs, Alejandra has worked to create spaces where individuals from all backgrounds feel seen, heard, and empowered. She brings a value-driven approach to leadership—grounded in service, empathy, and the belief that meaningful change begins at the community level.

Alejandra is a graduate of Boston University, where she received her Master of Science degree in Risk Management, Business Continuity, and IT Security. She graduated Cum Laude from PACE University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management Innovation, Technology & Quality Management. She is certified in Executive Education and Leadership from the Wharton School, Design Thinking from Columbia Business School, and Financial Management from Cornell University.
In her spare time, she remains active within her industry and community. Alejandra is associated with several organizations, including Women in Financial Markets (WIFM) as an Ambassador, the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA), Pencil, Inc., and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
