Nidhi Bansal is Global Head of Financial Resource Management (FRM) and Distribution for HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB), based in London. She focuses on improving returns by optimising capital, liquidity and leverage, increasing balance sheet velocity, and using data and technology to translate constraints into scalable growth.
Nidhi joined HSBC in 2006 and has 20 years’ experience across Fixed Income and Rates, spanning vanilla and structured products. She has held senior global trading leadership roles, including Head of Structured Rates Trading and G10 Derivatives Trading. In 2019, she became Head of Financial Resource Optimisation, leading the strategy to reduce risk-weighted assets (RWAs). Since May 2023, she has led FRM for Markets and Securities Services and now oversees CIB-wide FRM and Distribution (including secondary market activity), helping shape RWA, funding and liquidity decisions to strengthen profitability and resilience.
As a committed inclusion advocate, Nidhi co-founded HSBC’s Women in Trading network to support measurable progress for women in markets. Born and raised in India, she holds an Engineering degree and an MBA. Outside work, she’s an avid reader and keeps active—often clocking up 100,000 steps a week.
