Serene Murphy is Global Head of Corporate Development at Tradeweb Markets (Nasdaq: TW), leading a global team focused on identifying and executing both organic and inorganic growth opportunities across the business. Working closely with product and global markets strategy heads, she oversees mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and principal investments that expand Tradeweb’s capabilities, strengthen its ecosystem, and support the company’s long-term growth strategy.
After joining Tradeweb in 2011, Murphy spearheaded the expansion of the company’s wholesale business in Europe, as well as the launch of its CDS Index platform. She subsequently led several development initiatives across Asia Pacific, including the design and implementation of Tradeweb’s link to China’s Northbound Bond Connect, and the acquisition of Australian trading platform Yieldbroker.
More recently, Murphy has played a key role in advancing Tradeweb’s digital strategy through investments and collaborations across the digital asset ecosystem. These include investments in Securitize and Digital Asset Holdings, alongside Tradeweb’s participation in the Canton Network, and strategic partnerships aimed at supporting the development of next-generation financial market infrastructure.
In recognition of her contributions to Tradeweb and the industry, Murphy won the ‘Excellence in Innovation’ category at the European Women in Finance Awards 2022, and was included in the FN100 Women in European Finance lists in 2023 and 2025. In early 2024, she joined the board of Axiology, a Vilnius-based alternative capital market infrastructure, as an independent non-executive director.
Prior to Tradeweb, Murphy worked in the Principal Strategic Investments group at Goldman Sachs in New York and London. She holds a BA in Economics, with a minor in Italian, from Boston College.
